Braking for the Unexpected; This was one of many topics discussed and practiced at the recently attended In Control Crash Prevention Training class held in North Andover with two of my children and my office manager, Chris.
I can’t begin to tell you how important this class was and how much was learned both in the classroom and while executing on the test track. Braking at 60MPH’s and learning how to steer after the ABS brakes are deployed, are just some of the lessons learned.
Whether you have a newly permitted child or you’ve been licensed for about 100 years (my kids think so in my case), you will be amazed at what you think you know but unfortunately, don’t.
Is the major advantage of ABS brakes a shorter stopping distance? Should you brake before you steer in an emergency situation? These and many other questions will be answered in just a half day (either a morning or afternoon session). By taking the half day seminar you are eligble for a savings on your Auto Insurance.
In Control is a non profit foundation whose purpose is to educate drivers about many safety issues and go above and beyond what’s available through the traditional driving instruction available today. By driving with a professional driver and then getting to experience what is demonstrated, you get a real sense of what it takes if you’re faced when an emergency situation presents itself.
Here’s a short piece done by Channel 5’s Anthony Everett on Chronicle.
